ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum: A variety of interactive science exhibits are available at the museum, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday. Admission is $12.50, $10.50 for ages 2 through 12 and 65 and older, and free for kids younger than 2, $3 for SNAP/Oregon Trail card holders. Children’s Museum: The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon, 413 W. Main St., Medford, features early learning opportunities, educational experiences, interactive play exhibits and activities for children. Exhibits at the hands-on museum include farm-to-table play area, ranger station, wildlife rescue tree-house, a replica of Bigfoot, “The Makery,” art projects and more. Southern Oregon Historical Society: Explore local history through a variety of exhibits and displays from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays at the Southern Oregon Historical Society’s Medford History Center, in the historic J.C. Penny Building, 106 N. Central Ave., Medford. Currently on display is a special Oregon Historical Society traveling exhibit, “A Century of Wonder: 100 Years of Oregon State Parks,” as well as SOHS exhibits “A River Runs Through It: Fishing in Southern Oregon’s State Parks,” and “Crater Lake in Wintertime.” New exhibits are displayed every month. Take & Make: Kids and their families can stop by any JCLS branch to pick up a take-and-make craft kit during select dates. Each library branch offers a unique craft for every age group, from preschoolers to adults, and all needed supplies are included in the kit. Medford Seniors Activities: A variety of in-person and virtual activities and services are available to adults 50 and older from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays at the Medford Senior Center, 510 E. DART Mobile Services: The JCLS DART outreach vehicle, which visits a variety of locations throughout Jackson County, is a Wi-Fi hotspot and computer lab all rolled into one. Library staff offer use of laptop computers, along with tech help and special programs and presentations. Anyone within a 300-foot radius of DART can access its Wi-Fi for free. Historic Jacksonville Virtual Tour: Historic Jacksonville, Inc. has created a variety of virtual ways to explore Jacksonville. Watch two online videos — a 30-minute “Walk through History” virtual tour which takes you to 23 sites, and a 45-minute “Jacksonville Historic Homes” video tour which visits 27 historic houses, including the wooden 1855 Mathew G. Kennedy house, the 1873 Beekman House, and the 1892 Jeremiah Nunan house. Read through two text-based virtual tours “Beekman Bank Nuggets,” and “Mrs. Beekman Invites You to Call,” or the “Walk through History” blog to learn more about specific Jacksonville historic sites.
